He does say 'don't do this at home, it is dangerous'. But I did not hear him explain why. For anyone thinking about building one that is not a scuba diver, they should know that this is compressed air in the bubble. If they breath from it and leave the bubble holding their breath while they ascend, their lungs will be stretched and damaged, and they could potentially die. This is very risky.

Good explanation! This guy (Rulof Maker) copied our original Underwater Bubble Room but he left out many of the most important safety warnings. Pulmonary Barotrauma being probably the most dangerous (as you noted). If you search Underwater Bubble Room on youtube you'll see our original video and the description has a bunch of great facts and FAQ in it. Thanks for spreading _good_ information!

The reason it could be dangerous is not that it is compressed air. He pumps the air from the surface, not using a scuba tank. The reason it could be dangerous is that after a while, the oxygen is replace with carbon dioxide from breathing. Thus, the air becomes toxic.

yes carbon dioxide is another threat, but much greater is the pressurized air if someone doesn't know what they are doing. Air is no longer pressurized when it comes out of a tank, and this air isn't at surface pressure just because it came from the surface. The water is compressing the air from all sides, the bubble IS compressed. It looked like they put it 20-30 feet down, that bubble will double in size and escape out the bottom if you raise it to the surface. Even if no CO2 has built up in it yet, and someone took one breath from it, then held their breath as they ascended to the surface, they could die.

Dorsalfin is correct. Pulmonary Barotrauma is the most dangerous part of an underwater room like this. The guy who made this video copied our original room. If you want more information about it there is a Frequently Asked Questions section in the description of the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Phj3lLEtWlk
