Most of this is a total waste of time now. Today you can do layers bases animations with after effects(with depth of field filters) or spriters and render it much faster with much cheaper stuffs especially for a doodle as tiny as 272 x 92 pixels. I guess the intention here was to reproduce an artistic way and pay a tribute to an amazing artist.
