Energy demands are only going up and renewables don't scale. Swinging for the fences would be investing in Gen 4 Nuclear. But of course nobody is doing that because everyone knows this isn't actually a real problem that needs solving.

1:45 The fact is right, but what you dont explain is the problem we have with plastics: Recycling. If everyone recycles their plastic properly, yes, it is a very good material. But that does not happen, it is thrown away and finds its way in to the nature. So yes, plastic is very easy and CO2-Efficient to produce, BUT you also have to take care what happens after the use. Just for integrity :D

China pollutes plastic 29 times that of the US to the tune of 8.8 metric tons a year. Indonesia is second at 3.2 metric tons. The US is at .3 metric tons. So those paper straws are just feel-good nonsense that won't make any difference at all in the world.
