There's nothing new or unusual about this illusion. Many local science centres, including the one in my home town of Halifax, NS, has one of them constructed.

you can see he's walking down stairs and she's walking up stairs. Bad!!

  No, there are no stairs. The floor is slanted, and checkered, which confuse the eyes. I've seen and been in a room like this.
