So when they said “please switch off all electrical equipment for takeoff so that it does not interfere with our navigation equipment“ you thought, I know I will put on two electrical devices. Good move.

  Could you imagine putting the safety of the aircraft in the hands of the passengers? It would be like allowing people to bring bombs on airplanes but saying 'we ask that you please don't detonate your bombs while on the airplane. thank you"

  You are supposed to turn off devices that are transmitting something. It is completely OK to have your phone on ariplane mode with passive GPS (GPS is receiving only).

Such a dumb video. So dumb they had to put "2M+ views" to get you to click on it. We all know that airplanes takeoff at 80+ miles per hour.
