It more about thinking in a what if sort of way. What if they get this to work and replace all of the roads with these solar panels. This is a proof of concept design to show that it is possible to make.

The roadway is designed to "wick" the rain away from the road and the surface would be textured to provide traction equal to what we get with asphalt as well. Glare would be no problem as it is factored into the formula for the glass. The glass would be flexible enough to bear the weight of a semi rig and dark enough to prevent glare while still able to absorb sunlight into the solar cells. I am no engineer, but got this information from the video and from the website.

I think it is an awesome idea, and shows excellent adapability of existing technology to new applications in a way that has huge potential benefits. I'm sure the problems can be overcome. We need more people to think like these guys!!
