Doesn't english pretty much do the same thing? I named my old cate Bokeh, which is japanese in origin (the aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of an image). There's also karaoke, origami, tycoon, soy, teriyaki, zen, emoji, futon, tsunami....

Fascinating how all the girls reflexively cover their smiles with their hands. I've seen American teenage girls do the same, but not to the same extent.
