The thank you "blink" can also be observed -admittedly fairly rarely- in Europe, mostly from the big lorry drivers ... Sure would be nice to have this more frequently, though ...

This "blink" gesture is really common in Sweden. We use it all the time when someone do somting for you.

In Sweden, blinking right then left (or the other way around) means "thank you". A quick flash with the full lights from the car behind means "you're welcome".

Big rigs in the US also use the two blink convention. Help one out and you'll see it.

in all europe truckers use right-left-right indicators to say thanks, because this blink means emergency.
