That is not that impressive, it is actually very easy to program. All the phone is doing is taking video. The point where the picture is taken is just when the video ends. The phone probably stores the video in RAM and then deletes it after saving the chosen picture.

Yes, it may not be something that is amazing, but it is something we haven't incorporated into phones yet. And surprising, we haven't thought it up until now.
