I've seen this before but the way it was done was kept secret. He was more clear on how this work and said the surface could be made out of the ingredient being added. So it seems on the surface to be safe.

Soooo... companies will spend more to get this packaging while making the customers need to buy their product less often? Hmm... I can see this really working...

  so consumers may pay a bit more to pay for the technology, but we'll get more usable product in return, and take less effort and water cleaning for recycling.
