"This is a triumph of humans over nature" If anything this is a triumph of human presumption and arrogance: we're not above nature, we're merely a part of it just like anything else. Nature always triumphs after all.

Actually that is the problem, nature destroys everything in the end. Our only chance is to be above nature...

Maybe there wouldn't be drastic wind problems there if they didn't destroy all the trees
