It's not an accurate experiment, if you are going to scale up an experiment you should scale up all variables. In this case a football pitch is well over a hundred times the size of A4 paper, so therefore the paper thickness should be over 100 times thicker meaning the paper should be about 1cm thick.

Exactly. This is why I hate mythbusters. They love to "bust" myths by not doing the experiments accurately. Lest we forget I'm pretty sure the 7 folded paper idea only really applies to normal office paper. Not football sized and inaccurately thin paper. But hey, whatever entertains for a tv show
