Fake hand. At 0:25 she deliberately covers the hand while he replaces it with his own. Rest explains its self from there. The whole act seems very well rehearsed, entertaining at the very least.

This is a simple but well-rehearsed switch. There's a trapdoor in the left side of the box (hence why they cover the floor below it with the sheet) allowing the two people to quickly switch places with great timing. You can see where the switch of the hands is made as they make a quite glaring mistake... 27 seconds, the hand changes from a left hand to a right hand (watch the thumb).

step 1: the girl in put her hand through the box step 2: the man put a sheet on the box. the trick is here: there is someone else hiding in the bottom of the box. It's his hand that grabs the long sheet. step 3: the man and the girl switch places behing the large sheet. step 4: the girl removes the sheet, the person in the bottom of the box removes his hand and the man puts his hand through the box (and it's the wrong hand!!!) et voila!!! (comment from a french dude... sorry for my bad english...)

actually, it's not so quick... they have from 0:17 to 0:25 to switch places...
