Those kids are fine but the parents are taking the whole thing too seriously - why cant you just sit there and watch your child perform ffs?

  I don't think the parents are coaching, they are singing along, which is usually what the audience is encouraged to do at all Christmas pageants (at least in my experience), and they are given all the lyrics to all the songs.
