When are people going to learn how to video with their phones? Would anyone watch a movie in the theater like this. Seriously some really dumb people.

This is a pet peeve of mine as well. But can't they make the phones so they film in landscape when people hold the phone upright they way they are used to?

Dorsalfin, I agree. Given some people don't understand the concept, making so it's not possible is likely the best answer.

I'll confess, I have made a vertical video before on accident. But I learned how to not do it, by simply filming with it sideways ( like a brick). What I don't understand is people who choose not to do this.

People who "choose" to film like that it's mainly because they are lazy to make the extra move turning the device. Extra move which include the high risk of dropping it. So... yeah. People are people and nothing will change on earth.
