Agreed. Probably wouldn't work for vinyl floors, granite or laminate counters, clothing, etc. Can't imagine any other applications either.

It is normally attached on a robot arm and is intended for factory use.

I believe that this is a demonstration of an amazing material or coating that might be used in some other product or industrial process. They chose mustard and catsup for the demonstration because they are typical adhesive fluids so anyone can understand the unusual properties of the surface used to pick them up. If you think someone wants to sell this for cleanup at the local food court, you're completely missing the point.
