Interesting. What bad effects do you think vaccines are having? Do you think they have any good effects?

Vaccines do have an effect on infectious diseases. But their use can also be tracked to an epidemic rise in auto-immune diseases where the body's primary defense system (the immune system) malfunctions. Food allergies, arthritis, and host of other conditions are on the rise and vaccine use is as well. When I was born in 1985 there were 10 vaccines on the schedule. Now there are 36 (and some for some very minor conditions). There is also a separate court system for handling vaccine injuries — the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. There were 377 cases in 2017 amounting to over 220 million dollars in payouts.

You raise an interesting point. I tend to think the rise in autoimmune disorders is a combination of higher rate of diagnosing it (many of these poor individuals likely just suffered through it in earlier days) and decreased immune stimulation during childhood (due to smaller families and, ironically, improved hygiene). But there could be a role for vaccinations as well. Of course, association is not causation. And, I would much rather my child have a food allergy then be dead, which was the fate of many tens of thousands of children prior to vaccination against polio, HIb, flu, rotavirus, etc. Your point about minor conditions is well taken also. For example, chicken pox causes some mayhem but is usually benign. HPV causes cancer but of course there are other excellent ways not to get HPV.

Well the problem is also that investigating potentially negative effects of vaccines is so shunned by the scientific community. Robert DeNiro was pushing for a movie at Tribeca on this issue and he was harshly criticized to the point where he walked back his support of the film. There's a lot of willful ignorance out there. The movie was Vaxxed : http://vaxxedthemovie.com
