"believe humanlike robots are the key to smoothing communication between humans and computers" wtf kind of fantasy sci-fi have these guys been reading :P She's been programmed to sound more robotlike, not human. "function" isn't something humans say in that context. In other words she's been made to look like a human, sound like a robot, and this will help bridge some kind of gap in communication?
