  Both :P. For the start where he is walking slower a cameraman would have walked through the city filming then the man would be added to the scene later. Stop motion come into play as although it was probably recorded single frames were selected. For the large stretches they could have simply used Google street view or their own van with a camera on top.

Good animation techniques, cool vid. The guy was pretty stiff because of the technique though. Thumbs up overall!
