It reminds me of walking through a crowd. I'm 6'2", my wife is 5'2". If she leads the way, we don't get anywhere. People shove her out of the way, because they're bigger, and can do so to get where they're going with minimal problems. When I lead the way, people part. If they don't, they'll move because I'm bigger, not because I'll start a fight with somebody, it just seems to be a natural response to make way for larger people and to filter in around them to get your space. I do the same thing with 7' people. Basketball players represent the rocks in a stream, with everything rushing around them. Short people like my wife become the water.
