Grandstanding. His relief is pure acting. He knew the bullet would not reach him. So why is he even standing there? The high speed video is beautiful and fascinating by itself, there is no need to add fake reality TV style drama. I like the message that we can depend on the laws of physics, but if that is the message why does he act surprised that the laws of physics did not let him down? And finally, this message is confusing to young scientists who need to understand unambiguously that safety and exciting science are not mutually exclusive.

It would have been impressive if the bullet had touched him without harming him. Like this it's no big deal.
