It's worth mentioning that these amazing cameras aren't actually recording images at 10 trillion frames per second. Instead, the camera is synced up to the laser, so that the delay between the laser pulse and the frame being captured can be extremely accurately varied. The final video is actually a composite of thousands of individual laser shots, with the camera capturing a very precise moment in time, rather than capturing the continuous frames of a single laser pulse.
