Where was Vox when Facebook allowed the Obama campaign to massively mine user data in 2012? Where were you Zuckerberg?

I left Facebook years ago. took me a few tries. The trick is to delete all the "friends" you actually care about. Then the temptation to go back is gone.

So... that just sounds like you're saying the trick to deleting facebook is to delete what actually is your facebook: your friends first? I mean, shouldn't it be pretty obvious it's easy to quit facebook if you've deleted your friends?

The risks have always been obvious when you give your information out to someone, or something. The same as if you stop and answer customer surveys on the street that ask for your personal details. However, once again, given we appear to be living in an age of buffoons, where so much is done for us, the blatantly obvious (again) needs explaining.
