He does have a great attitude. Just one correction: white is all colors of the spectrum and black is the absence of color. Hence, when there is no light present, there are no photons, and everything "appears" black ("appears" because black is, in fact, not an actual color).

Bonana: it depends on what you are using to make the colors: light or pigments. With light, yes, white is all colors and black is the absence of colors. With pigment, though, the opposite is true. White is the absence of color and black is the mixture of color. Think of when different color paint is mixed together... add enough colors and eventually you will get black paint. I think most people think of black and white in the pigment way, since painting and color mixing is easier to wrap your head around.
