As someone who considers himself to be something of an armchair astrophysicist, I do feel an obligation to point out that this is extremely dangerous. You can actually create a black hole this way. As you know, a black hole is something that no light can escape from, and as the light builds up a tremendous gravitational field develops. Look how hard he had to work at 10:20 to remove a simple piece of paper from the device. Clearly, a gravitational field was already developing. He is lucky his wife or girlfriend didn’t come home that evening only to find a very dark and very empty room where he was conducting this work. For vanta black, I understand they add a couple of drops of white correction fluid to each 50 gallon batch precisely to prevent this sort of thing. For a light trap box like this the solution is simply to drill a small hole on one side of the box to ensure at least a small amount of light can escape. Science is cool, friends, but please, be safe!
