  How about no! We still want to eat the produce, we just want the conditions to improve. How about vegetarians stopped preaching and tried a sausage? Wake up, smell the coffee, realise that life is too short, and enjoy meat!

@gardane, so my wife must be dead or sick for 25 years now, 'cause she's not eating meat since that time... :-) Your "fact" is nonsense. Humans need COMPLETE PROTEINS, but you can get that without eating meat. And at that guy above you, improved conditions would be fine - but not possible for 7 billion people. Producing vegetarian food consumes much less resources, so the solution is quite simple: Buy LESS meat, but when you do: buy GOOD meat produced in good conditions.

People and their misconception of what a fact is... Stating something, because you've heard it, does not make it a fact. Turn off your television and read a book or two about the production of meats and then read a statistic or two from the main meat manufacturing countries. Finally read up on your knowledge about human anatomy and you'd suddenly realize that your so called facts are based in bull. What are you guys learning in schools now a days? Listen to Mike, he's on the right track. Buy locally produced goods and, thereby, skip the shipping costs and most of the pollution. By halving your meat consumption and replacing it with various beans or chick peas, you would still get the protein and your precious meat. Now could be the generational change needed in the state of mind that corrupts our society, which I would say to be, stating random things as facts and continuing inhumane acts to nature, because it's the way you're brought up. A change of mind and common sense is all that's needed to progress from this - no thinking, inhumane acting, wrongly interpreted and downright ignorant attitude to eating healthier and saving world resources.
