Well, Sir, I just happen to think that their "explanation" is so blatantly bullshit that it doesn't deserve any further questioning.

It only works like that because they *decided* to do an average of possible answers for the first equation. The real answer to the first would be {0,1}. 0 OR 1. The answer is never 1/2. And then it screws up all the other results.

My sister has a doctorate in mathematics. This is not correct: "An infinite sum is the limit of the partial sums. 1+1-1+1-1.. is a limit that doesn't converge since the sequence (1,0,1,0,..) doesn't converge. And if you sum 2 series, you sum 2 limits whereas in the video you're adding them term by term, which you cannot do. " And she ended with "Ahhh those physicists!

Tell your sister to watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCu_BNNI5x4 (at least the first 3 minutes) They skipped over these details, as they said, because it had already been done in that video.

"You either get zero or one, so you just take the average." Uh, no you don't. You can't add integers and end up with a fraction. You can't add positive numbers and end up with a negative number. Wave your hands all you want, it's plain nonsense.
