Oh boy. I feel a rant coming on. It's like we're back in the 60s when computers first came around and all the science fiction was about evil robots and computers taking over the world. AI will always and forever be a tool that humans use. It will NEVER evolve into "superintelligence". That is just absurd. It's shocking to me how so many really smart people can be so dumb. Human beings are not machines with purely mechanical processes governing our behavior. Just be honest and call this whole absurd idea "Artificial Life", because that is a more honest description. And the idea that humans are ever going to be able to create life is idiotic.

  I think the odds are pretty firmly in my favor. In the best case this ever materializes, we’ll both be dead before it does.
