  If it didn’t have the ad at the end would it have been funnier? I thought it was an ok prank, but certainly not the funniest.

  Also, the mediocre prank wouldn’t have even been possible without an elaborate setup and airport approval, which requires money and influence. So I can hardly see how the sponsor ruined a good idea. If there were no sponsor the video likely would never have even happened and it would have a remained a “pure” idea that never saw the light of day. Which would you rather have?

  How sponsors ruin a good idea is by removing the creativity. Wikipedia is the best example of a good idea that is fighting against money and sponsors. It's doing great. IMDB is an opposite example since it was a free library, now purchased by Amazone, you can question what information they put first. In this video, I agree that the sponsor payed for all the infrastructure but the prank will end there. Where as if it was free, it would maybe escalade into a viral prank giving birth to an explosion of creativity. But it always ends the same way, money buys the idea and put kills the spirit by trying to have a return on investment.

  If this had the potential to lead to some sort of viral prank and an explosion of creativity, it would do that wethere there were a sponsor or not. Look at the old spice commercials. Those certainly went viral. We even got Grover from Sesame Street doing a take on it. Besides, returns on investments create jobs like the one I have, so I can hardly complain about the profit motive.

  For the sake of argument, i’ll concede that this wasn’t the most creative or novel way of incorporating the sponsor into the video.

You’re absolutely right, they can't add an edit button for the comments, but at least this private message feature works well.
