Dumb video. Hindsight is 20/20. The President is trying to be hopeful and optimistic here. How awful. /s How about we post a submission with the truly horrendous and brain-dead utterances of the pseudo-media, as they work everyone into a frenzy rather than uniting us? The President is working day and night with his cabinet and top health officials getting positive things done, unlike the prior President with the swine flu (H1N1). He sat on his hands and the so-called media couldn’t care less about it. Rather than focusing on the positive, they dedicate all their energy into labeling the President a racist for correctly identifying the origin of the Pandemic. Of course the disgraceful fake news media choose to be mouthpieces for the communist Chinese government in order to attack President Trump. Sickening And truly a disservice to the American public.

Are you serious? You are, aren't you? I truly hope that most Americans have finally come to the realization that this president has no clue what he's talking about most of the time, spreading nonsense and fake news himself. We'll see with the elections, I guess.

Meanwhile, in Canada, liberals and conservatives, provinces and federal governments are all working together, saying nice things about each other, and the media has stopped attacking leaders. Might be a good idea to unite in a time of crisis, no?

This is such bullshit. The president is relying messages as he receives them. It’s his JOB to keep the country together and not send it into panic. None of these are lies. This is the information he had and he passing it to the people. Shame on you!!NOW DO ONE ON OBAMA!!!!!

No, he never listens to his advisors. He always thinks he knows best. This is a crisis, you HAVE to act instead of preaching soothing words while people are actually dying. And please stop blaming Obama, it's getting old.

If by “listen to his advisors†you mean “do precisely what his advisors recommendâ€, you’re right — Trump doesn’t listen to his advisors. (And in the case of John Bolton we should be grateful he doesn’t). But in this current situation he clearly shifted course after declaring the national emergency, so if that’s not “listening to his advisors†I don’t know what is 🙄

True, some of his advisors are/were nutjobs too. He might have actually listened to them. But are they all like that? I got the feeling he always ignores the sane ones.

What’s bothering you specifically? What’s he done that he shouldn’t have done? Besides downplaying the virus initially?

Let me summarize it in his own words: He's done many bad things, very bad. It's true. Very unfair.

But seriously, he hardly ever tells the truth. He's totally untrustworthy. How can you run a democracy like that, if much is based on lies?

Then he ist still a dangerous idiot. A leader must trust the people around him (instead of firing one of them every 2 months by the way) but with this virus, one could see the dangerous potential right from the start. I first heard about the virus in December here on best of youtube. I thought: Wow, they build two hospitals in two weeks? What for? And then i googled the infection potential of corona and the Graph was clearly not "just" swine flu. Infections morely went up like a rocket than like a plane if i might say so. Donald Trumps lack of understanding and action against the virus WILL cost lives. Do not be fooled about that. And he will finally make America GREAT again.. GREAT Italy. Thoughts and Prayers!

Here's my take on it (Coming as a Trump voter by the way). Trump initially downplayed it because the strategy of the CDC at the time was containment. Once it was determined that it wasn't going to be contained Trump shifted strategy, declared a national emergency and closed travel to Europe. This shocked the press originally because it was so sudden and a reversal of his prior approach. Other countries then all begin to do the same or similar measures.

And as for the virus itself. Yes, it is literally the flu, just a novel strain of it that's more contagious by all indications. The death rate is really uncertain because the data we have is not good, but it clearly hurts the immunocompromised the most.

And lastly, just follow the darn recommendations for now and practice good hygiene. The economy can't keep going like this for too long so it's best if we do what we can now so as not to draw this out further. I'm taking it day by day, week by week and am optimistic. ALSO, the test comes back negative for 90% of the symptomatic people who are tested for it.

Dave, your fundamental advice to follow the recommendations and take it day by day I agree with. Two factual errors though: it is not, technically, “literally†the flu. Coronaviruses and influenza viruses are different families of viruses (which is relevant since there is an antiviral medication for influenza virus but not at the moment for coronavirus.) Second, the false negative rates for the test I have heard of are about 35%, not 90%. Happy to be directed to other information though.

Oh now that I re-read it I think you are not saying that that the test has a 90% FALSE negative rate, but rather that most people with symptoms do not have COVID-19 but have some other garden variety virus. Which is entirely true. There you are down from 2 mistakes to 1 on my little Dave’s Mistakes scorepad I keep next to my computer. :)

Ha ha.... I was saying that 90% of the tests administered in the United States have come back negative. That was stated at least a couple of times by the scientist lady in the daily Coronavirus task force press briefings that I often watch live........ also, here’s an article that makes sense to me about the inadequate data we have at this point. https://www.dailywire.com/news/stanford-professor-data-indicates-were-overreacting-to-coronavirus ....... I think we’ll get a much better picture of what’s going on over the next couple weeks, either things blow up as everyone is afraid of, or things taper down. I just say, don’t panic and wait and see.

"I just say, don’t panic and wait and see" "Oh, I see, 1 millon dead" "Lucky I'm not one of them (Trump voter by the way)"

People like you are what's wrong with this country. Turn off CNN, get out from under your rock and meet actual Trump voters.
