my theory as to why this happens it 2 reasons... 1: the vehicle is creating a vacuum behind it, so when the ball left, it was sucked up by the air filling in the low pressure area behind the vehicle 2: when you throw a base ball, unless you throw side armed, there is a backspin. and my guess is that they didn't factor that those machines are made to throw with a back spin, like a real player would. the back spin is what made it roll so far.
